| Actually, I've had pretty good luck with United Farm Supply. I've ordered quite a bit of chemical through them and try to order as many combine parts as possible in the off season. I've noticed that my local CIH dealer is charging 10-15% over list price for most things and UFS has been able to save me a considerable amount of money over what my local guy charges. Of course in season parts or anything I need in a hurry I always just go downtown and pick it up (or overnight it, they never have everything I need) but for things that I can wait on, I'll gladly pick up the phone and save a buck or two.
I know it's probably possible for many of you to do the legwork and save the same amount or better on your own (the UFS guys have to make a profit on the parts) but for me, it's awful handy to just have a single number to call and know that I'm at least saving a little bit. I don't think buying groups or whatever you call these companies would work for everyone but so far so good for my operation. | |
