Gotty - this has nothing to do with gmo or any other trait like 'yellow'. The world is not in great shape financially, but still quite proud so when domestic markets are to be protected they can't be shown as weak. Instead there will be some reason to reject imports (gmo, paylean, bone chips, etc). Happens all the time. The US seems to be more straight forward about this - ie. tire companies get US to pass a tariff to specifically protect our tire companies (who had become seriously fat and lazy) or our pets start dying from melamine being used as filler or lead paint on toys.

Marches by people with no clue happen all the time (occupy?) and end up being useful idiots for someone else's agenda. If there wasn't a need for some trade manipulation, marches and protests would not get any press (same throughout the world btw).

Just in case you didn't notice we are all living longer and we've eaten billions of pounds of food with gmo traits. Try not to get taken in by the hype and recognize what's really happening.
