sw MN
I have been thinking of putting in a air system. What size system is best to buy 5" or 6"? I have a dryer that dumps in cycles and would require a 6 in system to keep up with the out put. Would running the system empty for 1 min between dumps hurt anything? I would think that would be better than starting it 20 - 30 times a hour. I think the 6 in is the way to go.

The other option is to augar the corn into a bulk bin and feed the air system from that. I don't like the idea of using a augar. More moving parts and more things to go wrong.

I currently use a 8in augar that dumps into roof augars on the bins. It is a PITA. Too many Bearings go out, belts burn up , motors to burn up, and pins to shear.
Next year I plan on putting up another bin that can not be reached by augars and will require the air system. What size should I buy?
