n.c.iowa | well things apparently are different in your area.here is a story for you then, based in factuality.so my local agronomist, who sells a national branded co.seed products is always on the prowl for more customers, comes to me one day and asks what i know about setting a pro 700 monitor up for vra planting. it would seem that we have a mutual friend that bought a new 1250 planter, and my ag buddy sold him some seed, with the understanding that he gets him going on the vra planting program,so i recommend a private guy in the area, that has had some extensive experience in this area, but i caution my buddy that in my opinion the pro series monitors take a large amount of face time with the customer to get everybody up to speed. good enough.so my ag buddy gets a way over priced cnh approved thumb drive, after i inform him the staples 5$ one may or may not work.and heads to the dealership to see if he can download it to the monitor. gets to the dealership and inquires about the tractor and planter location,is met by the store manager and is questioned why he wants to see this planter,my ag buddy explains that he has some vra maps and would like to download it to the 700 to see if he has the right files and etc.the manager says and i quote;"i don't know why you are screwing around with this stuff,it doesn't work, everything we sell has the capability to do it ,but we talk the the owners out of using,it's a pain in our backside, and we don't like messing with it,why you don't forget it"well my ag buddy was shocked to say the least, and then infuriated, because he promised his customer that he could get it to work.in spite of this they were able to struggle through and got a couple of fields done.this is the kinda support we are used to,the guys in the trenches are doing the best they can,it appears to me that they are lacking the support they need to be effective.haven't quite figured out yet at what level that things are running short. just one of several stories i have.
