During the old farm program days Delta farmers planted 2 and 1 as well as 2 and 2 skip row cotton and made good yields. Like another poster mentioned, the adjacent rows should fill in the skip if you have a reasonable amount of rain. It the plants in the bad row develop normally you should still have a good yield.
