Columbia Basin, Ephrata, WA | He's wrong on the size of a box of corn flakes, but the numbers aren't far off.
18oz box retails on Amazon for $2.98 per box for a three pack. At $8 per bushel, there's 16 cents worth of corn there. Consumer cost is just over 18x cost of raw product at $8 corn.
If food prices have risen enough to notice, farmers are the scapegoat, not the reason.
