Cedar Rapids, Iowa | From all the testing I've done, iMax is useless and should be removed from the available options. Conceptually it was supposed to improve accuracy compared to a single base station solution, but it just doesn't do that. However, it does reduce the number of available satellites you have in the solution, which can be a big problem at times. If you're using CMR+ or RTCM v2, use the "NEAR" stream.
CMR is older, CMR+ is a newer version. It was originally proprietary to Trimble, eventually became an open format for GPS, then diverged into two formats when GLONASS was added. RTCM is industry standard, but does require more bandwidth than what CMR+ requires. Bandwidth isn't usually an issue because it is still a very small data stream. | |
