Subject: RE: New style finger-wheel hay rakes?

From what I understand, H&S and Frontier are the same thing and older Hesstons were also H&S ( don't know about newer ones).

We run a couple of Vicon finger wheel rakes and have had no problems. You can "rope" hay that is too tough. We've had no trouble in fine hay. Watch that you are comparing stuff of the same build strength and quality. Sitrex, Tonnutti and a few others are built a bit lighter than, say, H&S or Westward.

We wanted to trade for a 12-14 wheel V-rake but didn't like the numbers so we're going to hook our two 9 wheel Vicons together to make a mega-V-rake. We'd like to be able to disconnect the left side for flipping an already raked swath. We're going to get a young man who has a repair/fabrication shop to do the work with ideas and input from both of us..........should be interesting:-)
