Boone Co. Iowa | We just switched from corn to soybeans this a.m. Having same problem that I have in the past.
Our row shutoffs worked pretty good in the corn, all 16 rows have a clutch individually controlled (I think, maybe 4 rows are "paired" to shutoff at same time), and have worked rather well. For beans, it is a different story.
When I get headlands done and get a-b line set, and then use autoswath/row shutoffs, the planter starts planting early as I pull out of a headrow, and stops planting before I get to the end of the headrow.
We have a 16-31 row planter with pusher rows so I know that things won't be perfect, but I think I have some 2-4 foot gaps in places. (both overlap and "blank" gaps)
What are some things I can look at and try to fix this problem?
Thanks. | |
