Organic is more expensive in most cases though - so at least you have that.

Really organic need not be more expensive, not in many cases. It is actually a sales gimmick to promote a higher price.
Top it all off, to prevent over production of "organic" their bureaucracy makes an effort to keep it a closed shop, limiting production, allowing for exorbitant pricing.

Still going organic gives a number of people a nice warm fuzzy feeling, and if they are happy let the sleeping dogs lie. J
