Vauxhall, Alberta, Canada
Just saw the e-mail about it from Trimble and I'm curious. I do petiole (tissue) samples on potato for about 6 weeks in the summer on 13 fields so at $20/sample this thing would be 1/3 of the annual cost. AND - it would give me readings right aways and I could check anytime I want. I tried some other units many years ago (I can't even remember the names, they were on loan from the gov't extension) but they weren't sensitive enough.

Regarding what to do with different varieties it appears its all about comparing good & poor areas of a field so you either have to compare those areas or leave check strips. I know that I've heard good things about the greenseeker but I didn't want to lug around the previous unit. This one looks handy. I might give it a try this year. If I do I'll post some things about my experiences.
