Let me ask you this; do your outer tips keep spraying longer after your master switch is shut off too? If so, I'd guess that all of your boom shut-off valves are mounted in the center of the sprayer. This means that there's a lot more plumbing that needs to be pressured up or pressured down out to the end. a better arrangement to it would be to move your boom valves for the outer sections out closer to the end of your booms (just before the boom section, or ideally in the middle of the boom section if you can make that work) so more of the plumbing is pressurized and there will be less of a lag.
