Subject: Hastings filters

Central WI
Just wanted to share a good experience we had with Hastings (owned by Baldwin) filters.

Changed oil on our ASV track loader, and within 1.5 hrs all the oil had vanished and the engine locked up turning it into a big expensive boat anchor. All we could find was oil had leaked out the gasket on the filter. Took the filter back to the dealer and he sent it in for them to look at. After we found a replacement engine and got it installed we got a nice phone call from Hastings saying that the filter was found to be a old version that had known problems with the engine we had (design was changed shortly after the filter we had was made) and that they would be doing a 100% warranty on the cost of replacement.

So if you have engine problems, don't throw the filter out or crush it, send it in. Very pleased with how Hastings handled it and glad to not have to worry about figuring out where that money was going to come from.
