I hear ya. Looking back, they listened to a market guru that told them that the prices were historically high and they went with it. I have looked at puts and calls as a way to prepay margin calls, but in this situation, puts and calls would have been extremely cheap. Hard lessons to learn, heavy risk being involved in the market.
