My 2 youngest both had rangers, 4 cyl. 5 speed and got around 25 mpg when they kept the foot out of it. The daughter put about 200,000 miles on hers and the son put 160,000 on his before replacing. Neither had given up yet they just wanted something different. I would recommend a ranger for about anything.
