You can't play the markets unless you have deep pockets.  As a farmer, it has been stated before that you use the markets to insure price.  Use of puts and calls.  Many farmers have found out way too late that you buy puts and calls.  Someone else with more knowledge and money to lose sells puts and calls.  Any other use of the markets by a farmer is usually worse than going to Vegas and laying it all on one spin of the roulette wheel or a throw of dice at the crap table.

My sympathy to them, but everyone should know the winners vs losers in the markets is usually 2 to 8.
