Strathcona, mn | That is about how I got my start. Farming skipped a generation before is started. I didn't have any family to rely on but am now the first generation in my family to farm full time since the great depretion. I started by doing the exact same thing. I bought a small tractor and a hambone and a square baler and a cheap rake and went to work. Before long I had a nice round baler, a discbine, and a nice v-rake. Fast forward and that led to more custom work and pretty soon I was finding my own tillable ground and then farming full time on my own. I grew up hearing that it couldn't be done.... Not till I was doing it did I find much support. I have since moved my operation nearly 400 miles to follow an opportunity. I support my wife and children sololy from farming. I couldn't be happier in life doing what I do.... How far things have come in 9 years. I started at 23 with nothing and now am 32 and living my dream. | |
