That product would not work the way they say it does. No way.

First they claim their product splits the salts into ions. All that is required to split a salt into ions is water. Add water to sodium chloride like the are saying their product gets rid of. And you get sodium ions and chloride ions.

Then they claim their product has a high CEC. Well organic material does indeed have a high CEC. CEC doesn't bind anions like the choride, it does bind ions like the sodium.

Here's the real fantasy. They claim since their product is a wonderful food source that is eaten by bacteria and the sodium would just disappear.

Bacteria don't eat the complex organic compounds. What happens is the organic material breaks down into smaller particles like ions (nitrate would be one such product) and those small particles are taken up by bacteria and plants. By the time they are in a form to be taken up by plants or eaten by bacteria though, there is no CEC, they've broken down.

Anyway yes, some of the ions are taken up by either the plants or the bacteria, but this doesn't destroy them. Scotty doesn't beam them to the moon or anything. The salts stay right there, and as the plants and bacteria die, the salt is still there.

Can you put on some of this humus product and get so much growth that the salts will be tied up in plant residue? Not in my opinion.

Note the before and after picture for the product on the site, notice that it is two different shots. The mountain in the background is only in one picture.

Save your money. If you have salt problems you either drain the land or you live with it or you get different land. Sometimes a perennial forage crop will help reduce the surface salts so that annual crops will do better for years afterwards if you can't provide internal drainage. There is no miracle product in a jug that fixes salts.

Just my opinion.
