Subject: Re: HELP JD 7800 Running Hot

Indiana
Ran a 7800 for over 15 years. You could start the tractor and it would automatically be 2 bars up on the gauge. And no matter what we did with it, it ran 2 bars from the red. And if it got real hot, every once in a awhile it got within 1 bar. We pretty much did what you did, changed temp sensor, cleaned and flushed radiator with no difference. We then put in cooler thermostats from an auto parts store and it did help a little, but comes down to how John Deere set the tractor up to run. Always thought it was a big tractor with not enough power and too little cooling capacity.
