My youngest daughter had open heart surgery at 6 months old, although I think its a different set of problems. She is 10 now and healthy. She does have skeletal and mental/developmental problems. NONE of which were caused by the heart surgery. I repeat, NONE of her other problems were caused or made more severe by the heart surgery. That's just the way she was brought to us. If she hadn't had the surgery, she would probably not seen her 2nd birthday. You're doing the right thing. Call me if you want. 254-721-6641. I've been in your shoes.
