Anderson County Kansas
Mine has already been leased and seismic done on it. The seismic crew and NRCS were there at the same time. NRCS was building, restoring the wetland. If they drill it won't be on the WRP, it will be on my land just next to it, or a horizontal well placed on me and drilled underneath it. As long as their is not wells or structures on the WRP thats ok. I really don't care if they drill or not, the lease check was good and more than I gave for the ground. The oil company knew it was WRP before they leased it, and they had dealt with it before, and told me the rules were as what NRCS explained to me. As far as property taxes, they are less than a dollar an acre, which is way cheaper than leasing ground to hunt on. I probably will build a house there someday, but it will be on my property that borders the WRP on three sides, not the WRP.
