NESD
A personal opinion of mine is that it ought to be illegal for anyone to be able to sign land up for perpetual easements. I feel all easements of this type should have a time limit. For me it falls under the ruling from the grave idea and am personally opposed to it. Back to the the OP question, my father did this on a piece of investment property that he owned and after that experience would never do it again. While the initial payment looks good, the property owner gets to pay the taxes and control the weeds forever and the value of the property drops like a rock, meanwhile the government calls all the shot forever after. Fortunately the lesson was learned on land away from home.
