Anderson County Kansas
I bought 240 acres in Finney county for 100 bucks an acre that had been enrolled in WRP. None of the locals wanted it. The govt. seeded it to native grass, and plugged up a tile to make a wetland. I also bought the ground that bordered it. I got the mineral rights with the WRP but they can't drill on it. They can however drill on my property that joins it and drill under it. I leased the minerals for more than I gave for the WRP. It has 2 half mile cedar windbreaks on it which are full of deer and pheasants. I bought it to hunt on, and thats all I plan on using it for. They will also allow me to plant food plots as long as I get them to approve the locations.
