SE SD
WRP is an easement program. Can be 30 year easement, where you get 75% of the Geographical Area Cap. Or you can go permanent easement, which is forever and a day. With the 30 yr easement you recieve 75% cost share on any cost share practices. With the permanant you recieve 100% of the GAC and the same on cost share items that need to be installed. You basically own the land and get to pay the taxes and spray the weeds at your own expence. Compatable use plans can be written, allowing for some grazing, or haying each year depending on the weather. Can usually cut 1/3 or graze 1/3 each year. All in all not a bad program for land that cant be farmed. Also you still own the land so you control access and control hunting rights. Sounds like a good fit for this piece of ground. A way to recoup some of your money and you still get to use it for your intended purpose. Also with this program, it has to go through a ranking process, so your not automaticlly in.
