I understand the point of WRP, but if you can accomplish the same thing and still have control of your land with CRP, why go to WRP? Maybe it's not eligible for CRP since it's not farmable? This is one of the times WRP does have a purpose, I just don't like handing over land to anyone forever. It's fine if you want to put land in a program for your life, but forever is a long time. I hear there are shorter WRP contracts, maybe those are an option. A permament easement doesn't seem to mean much for some of the land situations out west, but once you permanently ease something to the Feds, I think you're done dealing. Maybe there is some cost-share stuff available so you can control your own wetlands and still get a little help if that's what you're looking for.
