| What caused the message saying you needed at least 8xxx MB is that you tried to install Windows on the small 100 MB system partition. If you would have selected the 97 GB partition it would have installed Windows and kept the system partition for other uses. So you would have had 3 partitions. You likely would not have ever seen the system partition again unless you were installing windows again. The 97 GB partition for Windows and the huge partition for your data, you would have seen.
You don't have to get rid of the 100 MB partition. It can be used for some things but it's not important to have it either. I didn't even know about it because of the way I partition my drives.
Anyway, your choices are to leave the 100 MB system partition, install on the 97 GB partition and move on or you can use the method in my link to get rid of the 100 MB partition. For how you use a computer, I'd just leave the 100 MB partition and make sure you install on the 97 GB partition. | |
