You are extremely close. I suspect you just copied the file to the DVD rather than using the program to copy the file.
If you're using an XP machine to do this, I would recommend downloading imgburn to burn the .iso file to your DVD. If you were using one of the .iso burning programs in the link, the problem is likely a different one.
I know this is frustrating but you are very close.
