SE PA | Good dialog on this topic. My perspective is that this will become a very pertinent issue as it relates to not only cover crops but "soil health". There's a growing amount of on-farm research showing the use of multispecies cover crops somehow releasing nutrients or making them more available. I was just at Dave Brandt's field day and saw his data. I'm doing alot of plots on my farm this year related to this. The question remains- how many years until a crop yield reduction is realized? All i can say now it that i believe we can reduce applied nutrients "a little bit" with stratigic use of multi species cover crops. We will find out... | |
