One more post.

Twelve backup DVD's that gives you the partition structure you don't like is ridiculous. I don't know what they're doing, but it's not necessary at all.

1. Buy the quality DVD's I linked to above.

2. While you're waiting, download the real Windows 7 ISO using the advice on this thread. You can use either a USB drive or a CD to install so that may appeal to you as well.

3. Download the appropriate Windows 7 drivers for your computer by putting your Express Service Code or your Service Tag (see the bottom of your computer) in to the Dell support site. Move these drivers on to a quality DVD or a USB flash drive.

4. Download a free Anti-Virus program (pick only ONE). Transfer the download to either your DVD or your USB flash drive.

5. Install Windows 7 on your new hard drive. Use the registration key that should be on a sticker on the bottom of your computer. Install drivers and anti-virus off of your DVD or USB flash drive.

6. Get everything set up and make sure it works and get your data on to the new drive and verify intergrity.

7. Stick your old drive back in and wipe it with KillDisk.

8. Stick your new drive back in, then plug your old drive in with your external hard drive enclosure and clone your new drive to your old drive with Acronis.

9. Forget about the ridiculous 12 DVD's. That is literally insane.
