Lack of data for what claims, exactly? Most of what Ed did was raising questions, not affirmations.
The only affirmations I read that were not questions were not generic anti-GMO rants, but these two sentences: "The first thing is that on my farm, GMO never increased yield, profit or quality. Then I inherited all of these resistant weeds that are hard to kill."

I am not sure why you would question these two statements about Ed's personal experience on his own farm and why you are still talking of empty cans even after Ed already answered in more details.

Regardless, there's plenty of evidence to support some claims against GMOs. GMOs offer great benefits, but it's not like they come without their own problems either, unless you believe everything the biotech companies tell you. The important thing is to be aware of both sides, and balance it out for your own practice, whether it's with or without GMOs. At least Ed is sincere and consistent in what he believes and practices. He grew both and shared his experience and his doubts about GMOs, I don't see that he tried to convince anybody one way or the other.
