
| dpilot83 - 4/10/2013 18:46 If you're really wanting to make this work, I would back everything up in a more normal manner than what you're suggesting just this once, make sure you have all the drivers downloaded for your computer and download the Windows 7 .iso so that you can create a DVD to re-install Windows. Then run something like KillDisc (I imagine it's still available) and then re-install and try to make an image of your hard drive again. Good luck.
I was going to suggest this since this is what I do at work, but I thought it would be risky unless Von was able to create the restore disks. I use Darik's Boot and Nuke (D-BAN) at work, and it works great. Never had a problem wiping a drive on a new system before installing Win7 Enterprise.
As for dual-boot systems, I found an Ubuntu package that will install on a USB thumb drive, and boot from it. If I have it plugged into the laptop when I power it on, it will try boot from the thumb drive first. Pretty nice way to use Linux if you don't want to try install it on a working system. |
