Wyoming | Actually Don, it isn't so much President Clinton's fault, for it wasn't part of his agenda. It was, however, the agenda of the race-baiting grievance monger groups like ACORN, who brow-beat Congress and the Clinton administration (so they brow-beat both the GOP and DNC) into relaxing the lending standards under the guise of "eliminating red-lining." The settlements ACORN would reach with some lenders (ie, ACORN said they wouldn't sue or would withdraw their lawsuit) was what resulted in the vast, vast increase in loans to people with no documented income, bad credit scoring, etc. The increase started in the early 90's (ACORN started their campaign in the late 80's) and increased all the way through 2006. From 2001 to 2006, there was a guy who claimed to be a Republican in the White House. |
