I dribble it on behind the planter. Actually it goes into the track of one of the closing wheels. I do mix extra nitrogen with it. My corn is under pivots, so if no rain, it gets watered. Seems to work ok for me. If I forget to turn on the fertilizer for a pass, it is extremely noticeable,

Some thought locally that in our sandy ground, putting it down 2 inches may be getting it too deep for the corn to get it quickly.
