| What is 3.5% really a percent of anyway? It's a whole lot better odds than winning the lottery that's for sure. It's just a number that obviously has some of the posters to your original message thinking surrender for the end is near. 3.5% to me is a challenge just begging to be turned around by a determined soul!!!. But, getting your affairs in order first is not the way to start, or even worry about yet. Worry about yourself first....
#1 Focus on your health first. Forget about that 3.5% survival rate, the only way that number is right is to die first...definitely get a second opinion!
#2 Try Cancer Treatment Centers of America www.cancercenter.com (or other leading regional or state Cancer Center). I've had family already go through CTCA successfully after being told hope was virtually lost at stage 4... CTCA does not consider hope lost until life is lost, and they will focus 100% on the well-being of the patient in parallel with treatment, you aren't a number to them and 3.5% doesn't mean much to them either
#3 The key is treatment, do not give up no matter how bad it is. That said, chemo and radiation side-effects aren't what they use to be and can easily be managed
#4 If you are religious, remember who gave man the intelligence to be scientific and have the ability to learn the skills to treat and cure - put your faith in those folks and by doing so you are also putting your faith in the one who made all things possible ;-)
Unsecured dept (credit cards, etc.) should be paid off first, real-estate and vehicles (i.e. semi tractor and trailers) are the easiest to liquidate and should not be put through an auction
Get the second opinion first, the first doc may have read the results upside down and you actually have a 96.5% chance of living to a ripe old age.
