Subject: Re: Reinke or zimmatic pivot?

Bow City, AB, Canada
We moved in a T&L on a 2nd quarter where we towed a Valley back & forth before. It was a used machine that was on some old prairie where the previous owners had moved it in from somewhere but it never saw water. On the T&L we put in a new point and 1st tower then the other 7 towers. Then we put on new direction and speed controls on the end. At the point we ran an electric motor on the hydraulic pump. The only problem we have is that the underground wire from the genertor isn't heavy enough. We can't start the hydraulic drive from the generator, we have to go out to the point. Also had to take the auto-unloader valve out and put in a ball valve. It would pressure up before everything got pumping and kick the breaker. As far as controls, you can leave it where it was running it will start and go. It is kind of a pain having to go out to the point but that is still way easier than towing a pivot back and forth half a dozen times or more.
