Northern Illinois | I feel bad for Rockhead he asked a simple question about basically what the strong points of a green planter are and the only thing he got was a lot of himin' and hawin' about how bad Deere is as a company.... Rockhead, I believe all the newer planters are great tools, whether it be a Kinze, Case IH, White, or Deere. I personally have a Kinze and really like it. My last planter was a IH Cyclo 800, it was a good planter but I didnt think it was as accurate as everybody said they were. One thing I like about a finger pickup is that they are simple, pretty bulletproof and plant very accurately as long as you run them in the speed range they can handle, You dont have to buy a Deere to get a finger pickup you could buy a Kinze to get that. The White planters are supposed to be highly accurate and many guys that are very particular like them. I know several operations running every style of planter and it comes down to ones prefference, how much they want to spend AND dealer service. I know their are plenty of guys on here that will tell you no Deere dealer gives good service simply because they have a odd fear of the color. But there are plenty of GREAT Case IH, KINZE, Deere, and White dealers out there. Pick on that has good service in your area, with the options you want, and maintain the planter and I believe you will be happy. | |
