I don't really think one is superior to the other in this area. It is just that the T&L hardly ever gives any trouble, and the electrics may be pretty good one year, and a real nightmare the next. Another thing, lightning causes a huge amount of expense for me on the electrics, and I have never had any lightning damage with the T&L. I imagine I have had at least a half dozen generators fried over the years with lightning on the electrics. A lot of times there is a lot more damage than just the generator too. I hear so many people bad mouth the T&L pivot, but I just have had such a minimal amount of trouble that I honestly don't think I would take an electric machine for free. I know others have a different opinion, but that has been my experience.

If you have any hydraulic leaks, it is more than likely a result of a bad erection crew, but if you take a little time you can find the leaks, tighten the fittings and have little trouble with leaks, although from time to time you need to check the machine out for leaks. I feel this is a very small price to pay for the reliability I have experienced with the T&L.

The first T&L machine that I purchased 17 years ago probably has had less than $300 spent on it. I figure on at least $1000 PER YEAR on the electrics, in a GOOD year.
