Back in what seems now like an earlier life I sold typewriters (for you kiddies that is kind of like a self contained word processor). I sold Xerox and Swintec/Nakajima. Xerox was hands down a better typewriter. But you had to keep in mind the philosophy "No purchasing agent ever got fired for buying IBM" So how is that relevant to a planter? Like was said, when you go to trade most likely the Deere will be more valuable than the White. There are also a lot more people with experience, modifications, tricks, and tips on Deere. White ... well most people have seen one. I guess I am just old fashioned, but my question is which has the better dealer support? But back to your original question, why should you buy a Deere? Because it will do what you need done. I have one. I miss my old cyclo every time I put a bag in it or fold it or mess with plates or pressure or talc. But when the corn comes up and every plant is just where it should be I remember why I traded. |
