NE CO | I've finally decided to give up on dragging the Flexicoil 5000 9" hoe drill through corn stalks in the spring to plant millet. In a decent year with better than 50 bu/ac corn yields, it is just too tough to get through the residue in no till situations.
Everyone in my area uses a JD 1850/60/90 single disk drill for their no till operations. I've also looked at the Case SDX air drill and Sunflower as options. I would like to stay with airseeder, so I'm leaning toward the JD 1890 or CIH SDX. What are your opinions on these two drills? Other ideas welcome as well. I'll be mostly using it for millet in the spring into cornstalks and sometimes in the fall when reseeding wheat into heavy wheat stubble.
Thanks in advance,
