Subject: Re: Wheat rolling hills in The Palouse, WA

Follow-up: The photographer author of the article replied and provided the following link about the Palouse agricultural pollution: http://www.ecy.wa.gov/programs/wq/tmdl/palouse/

I looked into it in detail, and there was absolutely no mention of pollution caused by current agricultural practices. The most recent studies in it date back from 2005, and mention only post-WWII organochloride pesticides like DDT and their accompanying PCBs, saying that such pollution has been on the decline and some of these pollutants are no longer a problem in the Palouse river. It does not mean that there is no recent pollution, but there is no data to support such a claim.
