Columbia Basin, Ephrata, WA | Yeah, the pictures are kind of nice, but the article is crap. They make it sound like the whole of SE Washington is dripping with chemicals and that 20,000 acres isn't a family farm. The reason farms that size are so common around there is that if you intend to support more than one family it might take that much. 1,200 organic acres there is a niche, maybe a hobby, and they act like everyone that grows everything in that area should market it locally because shipping is expensive. Pure crap. The reason the pictures are so nice is that there are no people there. No market. Reality is a tough thing for a lot of journalists to grasp.
Wheat Life is a much better source of articles and pictures.
