Beresford SD | This is another picture my Dad took in the late 40's. Unfortunately I do not know the story but it appears with all the "guys " in the picture it was probably a neighborhood Picking Bee to help a injured fellow farmer or family of a farmer who had passed away.
Some of you younger viewers probably have not seen a mechanical lift used to raise the wagon before hydraulic lift wagon hoist. It was usually powered by same "tumbling rod" which powered the elevator. Some of you viewers older (58) than me may have had more experience and can explain it better.
