I know this is off the wall, But if I recall correctly deere's new large industrial loaders are electro/diesel. Much like the locomotives have been for years and years. I believe you can get more pull power per gallon of fuel that way do to the torque of an electric motor. Which eleminates the transmission to a simple gear box and the use of a VFD (variable frequency drive). But I would still have the diesel engine running hydraulics becouse lets face it. Everything in world is hydraulic implements, and lets face it we all have really old implements floating around so we cant just go buy new everything.

Also lets get the price of equipment right, I know it doesnt cost 180k to produce an 8235R, maybe half of that on the top end.
