That is the only thing I've found to complain about on the Ranger. I can't believe how hard that filter is to get at. I managed somehow to get it off and back on without the tool that is like a big socket that spins it from the end, but I WILL have it next time. Trust me, don't try it, just buy the tool. Someone said you could order it from Amazon or Napa.
