Cleveland, MS. Own small farm near Booneville, MS | I have never known anyone whose actual name was initials. Around here it is fairly common for someone to be known by the initials of their first and middle names (e.g. John David Smith might be known as J.D. Smith). Knew one fellow whose actual first name was "Buster," no middle name. When filling out enlistment papers for the Army he just put "N" (for "none") in the space where his middle name/initial was supposed to go. Thus he became known as "Buster N. Last name." Another fellow was actually named "Junior" by his parents. When he went in the Army the Army insisted that his name could not be "Junior" so the Army changed his name to Jack. |
