Subject: Do the books myself

EC North Dakota
I feel the best thing I do is do the record keeping my self. No one to blame but me if there is an error. By bookkeeping myself I can pull up estimates and info anytime I want them. I start tax planning with tax preparer usually with an initial visit in Sept just prior to soybean harvest and look at where we are.

I usually have a good idea of what the net is going to be except for depreciation and Sect 179 by that time. Can look at history and see what net has been over the past years and where we are at.

Good tax preparer is a must as well.
