WC MN | Best thing we ever did was to hire a competent tax accountant. We keep detailed records through the year and turn over the information to him and he takes it from there. We meet 3 times a year to update everything and plan according to the stage the crop is at a what income/expenses are shaping up like. Really takes all the work out of it for us and he does an excellent job. I don't like paying taxes but if you are paying them you are making money and thats good. He does not subscribe to the notion of buying equipment/prepaids just to avoid taxes. Everything must stay fairly consistent year to year so you don't get nailed at a time when cash is not readily available to pay taxes. Taxes can be delayed but never avoided. | |
