Subject: Re: Ohio fertilizer proposal

northeastern Ohio
The part of this bill that irks me the most: "to require a person that applies fertilizer for the purposes of agricultural production to be certified to do so by the Director of Agriculture"

I don't think they should single out farmers for this part of the legislation. If they are going to certify for fertilizer application, it should be ANYONE who is applying/buying fertilizer,,,, especially those who apply obscene amounts to their lawn/flowerbed so that they can have the greenest (sic) lawn in the neighborhood. Farmers apply fertilizer to produce food for the world and take into consideration the economic as well as environmental concerns. Should they be more regulated than someone who is applying UNLIMITED amounts to a lawn/flowerbed just to feed their ego?
