Do not short your corn on corn on nitrogen. Being short nitrogen in any form will be your limiting factor towards bushels produced. Do not spread urea over top after planting unless you are sure of a good rain within 24 hours of applying. Fertilizer does the crop no good laying on top. All roots go down and out searching for plant food.
