Hello DT87
Around here canola is solid seeded with an air seeder or air drill. Do you get any winds there? I would be concerned with the swath blowing. Here we swath as high as possible to just catch the lowest pods & pull a swath roller behind the swather to anchor the swath down into the stubble to keep it from blowing. Last fall there was a wind storm out west & thousands & thousands of acres of canola swaths were blown all over the place causing some major harvest headache & yield loss. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/story/2012/09/11/sk-canola-wind-120911.html
